RESOLUTION NO. 94-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS APPROVING THE SUBMISSION
OF A PETITION TO THE TEXAS STATE LIBRARY AND
ARCHIVES COMMISSION REQUESTING THE EXTENSION
OF THE DEADLINE FOR FILING RECORDS CONTROL
SCHEDULES WITH THE COMMISSION FROM JANUARY 2,
1995 TO JANUARY 2, 1996; AUTHORIZING THE TOWN
SECRETARY TO EXECUTE THE PETITION ON BEHALF OF
THE TOWN AND TO FORWARD THE SAME TO THE
COMMISSION AND TO TAKE ALL OTHER STEPS
NECESSARY TO SECURE THE EXTENSION OF THE
DEADLINE DATE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 203.041(a) of the Texas Local Government Code (the "Code"),
requires the records management officer for the Town of Trophy Club, Texas to prepare and
file with the Director (the "Director") of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (the
"Commission") a records control schedule on or before January 2, 1995 (the "deadline date")
for certain records listed in the statute; and
WHEREAS, Section 203.041(c) of the Code authorizes the Director, in the Director's
discretion, to extend the deadline for the filing of records control schedules upon the receipt of
a petition from a local government that it will be impossible to comply fully with the
requirements of Section 203.041(a); and
WHEREAS, the Director has announced procedures for the filing of such petitions, with
the deadline date being extended initially to January 2, 1996; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town finds that it will be impossible for the Town
to comply fully with the requirements of State law for the submission of records control
schedules on or before January 2, 1995 and desires that the Town Secretary execute and submit
on behalf of the Town a petition requesting an extension of the deadline date to January 2, 1996.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. The above and foregoing premises are true and correct and are incorporated
herein in their entirety.
Section 2. The Town Secretary is hereby authorized and empowered to execute a
Petition for Extension of Records Control Schedule Filing Deadline in the form set forth in the
exhibit attached hereto and provided by the Commission. The Town Secretary shall forward the
said Petition to the Commission and take all other steps necessary to secure the extension of the
deadline date to January 2, 1996.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its date of passage.
