AN ORDINANCE OF THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN COUNCIL
CANVASSING THE RETURNS, DECLARING THE OFFICIAL
RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL CHARTER AMENDMENT
ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020, RELATING TO THE
THREE (3) PROPOSITIONS AMENDING THE TOWN'S HOME
RULE CHARTER; PROVIDING FOR THE INCORPORATION OF
THE THREE RESULTS FOR EACH PROPOSITION; PROVIDING
FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF VOTE PROPOSITIONS INTO THE
TOWN'S CHARTER; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE
OFFICIAL RESULTS CANVASSING THE SPECIAL CHARTER
AMENDMENT ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT
AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on August 11, 2020 the Trophy Club Town Council (the
"Town") passed and approved Ordinance No. 2020-09 ordering a Special Charter
Amendment Election regarding three (3) Propositions that would amend the
Town's Home Rule Charter; and
WHEREAS, the Town Secretary appropriately posted and published the
Notice of the Special Charter Amendment Election, in accordance with the election
Laws of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Special Charter Amendment Election was duly and legally
held on November 3, 2020 in the Town and in conformity with the election laws of
the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the official returns from Denton and Tarrant Counties (See
Exhibit A detail) includes early voting ballots and election day ballots related to the
Special Charter Amendment Election for the three (3) Propositions containing
amendments to the Town's Home Rule Charter, are presented to the Town Council
acting in its capacity as the Canvassing Board for the Special Charter Amendment
Election; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council, acting as the Canvassing Board shall
canvass the official returns that include early voting ballots and election day ballots
duly and legally cast showed that each propositions received votes from voters in
Denton and Tarrant Counties that are registered to vote in Trophy Club Municipal
Elections as follows:

CONFLICT OF INTEREST AND ABSTENTION: AN AMENDMENT TO
SECTION 3.20 TO DELETE SECTION 3.20 (B) AND CHANGE THE
TITLE TO CONFLICT OF INTEREST, THIS WOULD REMOVE THE
REQUIREMENT TO RECORD AN ABSTENTION AS A NO VOTE.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN
COUNCIL:
Section 1. Incorporation of Premises. The above and foregoing are true
and correct and are provided for in the adoption into the Town of Trophy Club's
Charter.
Section 2. Confirmation of Vote Tabulations. The results of the Special
Charter Amendment Election, related to three (3) Propositions containing
amendments to the Town's Home Rule Charter, and as canvassed and tabulated
above, reflect the approval, passage and expressed desires of the majority of
residents being qualified voters of the Town and are to be incorporated into the
Town Charter; and.
Section 3. Issuance of Canvass of the Special Election. The Mayor is
hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the Canvass of the Special
Charter Amendment Election, by signature of this Ordinance in accordance with
State Law.
Section 4. Engrossment and Enrollment. The Town Secretary of the
Town of Trophy Club is hereby directed to number, file and codify this Ordinance
in the official records of the Town Charter.
Section 5. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
after its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town of Trophy Club Town Council this
17th day of November 2020.
