ORDINANCE NO. 2020-20
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN COUNCIL
CANVASSING THE ELECTION RESULTS AND DECLARING OFFICIAL
RESULTS OF THE GENERAL/SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON
NOVEMBER 3, 2020 FOR ONE (1) COUNCIL MEMBER TO PLACE NO.
1 FOR A THREE (3) YEAR TERM, AND ONE (1) COUNCIL MEMBER TO
PLACE NO. 2 FOR A THREE (3) YEAR TERM, AND FOR ONE (1)
MAYOR FOR A THREE (3) YEAR TERM ON THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN
COUNCIL; PROVIDING FOR THE INCORPORATION OF THE OFFICIAL
RETURNS FROM THE VOTE TABULATIONS; IDENTIFYING THE
OFFICIALS ELECTED AND PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND
ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on August 11, 2020 the Trophy Club Town Council (the "Town")
passed and approved Ordinance No. 2020-08, ordering a General/Special Election for
the purpose of electing one (1) Council Member to Place No. 1 for a three (3) year term;
one (1) Council Member to Place No. 2 for a three (3) year term, and Mayor for a three
(3) year term on the Trophy Club Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the Town Secretary appropriately posted and published the Notice of
Election in accordance with the Election Laws of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the official returns from Denton and Tarrant Counties includes early
voting ballots and election day ballots and official returns are related to the election of one
(1) Council Member to Place No. 1 for a three (3) year term, one (1) Council Member to
Place No. 2 for a three (3) year term, and one (1) Mayor for a three (3) year term on the
Trophy Club Town Council and have been presented to the Town Council acting in its
capacity as the Canvassing Board; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council acting as the Canvassing Board shall canvass the
official returns for the positions of Mayor, Council Member Place No. 1 and Council
Member Place No. 2. The returns of the General Election, (See Exhibit A detail) include
the early voting ballots and election day ballots, duly and legally for Denton and Tarrant
Counties registered to vote in Trophy Club as follows:

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Home Rule Charter, the candidate for election to each
Place on the Council or for Mayor, who receives a majority of all votes cast, shall be
declared elected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN
COUNCIL:
Section 1. Incorporation of Premises. The above and foregoing premises are true
and correct and are incorporated into the body of this Ordinance and made a part hereof
for all purposes.
Section 2. Confirmation of Vote Tabulations. The results of the General/Special
Election as related to the election of one (1) Council Member to Place No. 1 for a three
(3) year term, one (1) Council Member to Place No. 2 for a three (3) year term, and one
(1) Mayor on the Trophy Club Town Council, as canvassed and tabulated above, reflect
the expressed desires of the majority residents being qualified voters of the Town.

Section 3. Elected Officials and Terms of Office. In accordance with the canvass
and tabulation of the results of the General/Special Election, the duly elected Council
Members elected on November 3, 2020, and the corresponding terms of office, is as
follows:

Mayor Three (3) Years Alicia Fleury
Council Member Place No. 1 Three (3) Years Greg Lamont
Council Member Place No. 2 Three (3) Years Greg Wilson
Section 4. Issuance of Certificates of Election. The Mayor, or his designee, is
hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the Certificates of Election to the
successful candidates elected at the General/Special Election, as specified in Section 3
hereof. The Mayor or his designee is authorized to execute and deliver the Canvass of
the General Election by signature of this Ordinance and in accordance with State Law.
Section 5. Engrossment and Enrollment. The Trophy Club Town Secretary is
hereby directed to engross and enroll this Ordinance by numbering and filing this
Ordinance in the ordinance records of the Town as required by the Town Charter.
Section 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately after its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas, this 17th day of November 2020.
