FOR THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB

The Parks & Recreation Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular
Session on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held within the
boundaries of the Town and was open to the public.

Call to order and announce a quorum.
Chairman Lentzner called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. noting a quorum was
present.
Citizen Presentation
Chairman Lentzner read Board Member Glaser’s letter of resignation.
Alternate #2, Stacey Everett, will be moving into the vacant spot after the
Town Council has approved his appointment to the Board.

1. Discuss and take appropriate action on the approval of the November 8,
2011 minutes.
November 8, 2011 minutes now reflect ADAM, I’M UNCLEAR WHAT
Y’ALL WANTED CHANGED ON THE MINUTES.
Board Member Hanna motioned to approve the November 8, 2011
minutes as amended. Board Member Abdulky seconded. Motion passed
unanimously.
2. Discuss and take appropriate action on creating Board liaisons to the
various sports associations that currently use Town facilities.
Board Member Abdulky motioned to appoint Board Member Murray as
the liaison to the football association. Board Member McCollister
seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Board Member Murray motioned to appoint Board Member Lentzner as
the liaison to the baseball association. Board Member Mills seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.
The liaison with the soccer association will be determined at a later
meeting.
3. Trophy Club Park and Trails Sub-Committee update.
The board appointed Board Member Murray as the new Chairman of the
sub-committee (replacing Glaser).
Director Adams let the board know that the trail heads should be
complete in December; brush cleared and kiosks installed. After the trail
heads are complete, the disc golf course should be complete by the end
of January. Staff will be asking Teague Nall & Perkins to provide cost
estimates for a “concept plan” regarding the road through the park. Staff
is researching heavier trash cans that can’t be overturned or opened by
wildlife. Parks’ staff are being scheduled to pick up the trash in the park
and place it in the trash bins on a regular basis. Allied Waste will remove
the trash from the bins at no charge.
4. Staff update on potential remaining bond projects.
Director Adams has obtained pricing estimates for most of the items on
the “potential project” list. Once all estimates are gathered, Director
Adams will review the list with the board. Greenplay LLC will likely be the
company completing our “needs assessment” regarding a
Recreation/Community Center.

5. Staff update on the following park areas:
a. Independence East
Trees will be planted by pool, near neighborhood 9. The park hasn’t been
officially accepted just yet – waiting on the contractor to finish a few
things. The lights are being worked on so that the “correct” lights are on
overnight. Debut tournament is scheduled for February, on new fields
only. Both East and West are on Musco lighting system.
b. Freedom Dog Park
A few minor things left to wrap up this project. Cameras have been
installed to monitor the use of the park. Additional dog stations will be
installed in the next few weeks. There is a very large pecan tree in the
back of the park being looked into as one of the states’ largest pecan
trees. Eagles Scouts may do benches for the park.
c. Harmony Park
“Soccer field” project complete. May convert these soccer fields into
“association only” fields; no rentals.
d. Christmas Event
Largest attendance to date. Approaching capacity before needing to
seek alternate venue – possibly Indy East.
e. Linear Park North
Park begins at BNHS and runs to TCP. It might be a good idea to give an
official name to the park; open to suggestions. Staff is working with the
developer on a fountain, connecting the 2 ponds and researching the pier.
Staff is talking to Teague Nall & Perkins regarding the engineering of the
hills. The Board thought it might be wise to ask the developer (or the
responsible party) to inform home buyers of the expectations for that
area.

Board Member Hanna made the motion to adjourn at 8:40pm. Seconded by
Board Member Abdulky. Motion passed unanimously.
