The Parks & Recreation Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Special
Session on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 7:08 p.m. The meeting was held within the
boundaries of the Town and was open to the public.

Call to order and announce a quorum.
Chairman Lentzner called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. noting a quorum was
present.

1. Welcome new Board Members/recognize retiring Board Members.
Retiring Board Member, Steve Gregory said a few words.
New Board Members were introduced, as well as the new Town Council
Liaison.
Louis Hocker – new Board Member
Glenn Hurst – new Board Member
Jeanette Tiffany – Town Council Liaison
BRIEF ADJOURNEMENT UNTIL 8:00pm FOR REFRESHMENTS AND
MINGLING.
2. Discuss and take appropriate action on the appointment of the following
Board Officer positions.
Chairman – Board Member Lentzner
Board Member Abdulky made a motion to re-appoint Board Member Larry
Lentzner as Park Board Chairman. Board Member Glazer seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Vice Chairman – Board Member Abdulky
Board Member Thomas made a motion to re-appoint Board Member
Dave Abdulky as Park Board Vice Chairman. Board Member Jim Hanna
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Secretary – Board Member Hurst
Board Member Dean Murray made a motion nominating himself for Park
Board Secretary. Board Member Kathy Trotter made a motion
nominating Board Member Glenn Hurst for Park Board Secretary. Board
Member Murray yielded to the nomination of Board Member Hurst; and
seconded the motion for Board Member Hurst. The motion passed
unanimously.
3. Per Board and Committee Handbook, discuss and take appropriate action
regarding meeting attendance requirements and filling a Board position
vacant as a result of absenteeism.
Director Adams explained the Absenteeism Policy. Board Member
Lentzner explained that Board Member Kohs exceeded the number of
permitted absences for a Park Board Member. Efforts to reach Board
Members Kohs were unsuccessful.
Board Member McCollister made a motion to replace Board Member
Kohs (due to excessive absences) with Alternate #1, Tom Mills. Board
Member Hanna seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

4. Discuss and take appropriate action on the approval of the September 8,
2011 minutes.
Dean Murray needs to be moved to “present.”
Board Member Abdulky made a motion to approve the September 8,
2011 minutes as amended. Board Member Hanna seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
5. Staff update and discussion of same for the following items:
a. PetFest and Freedom Park
A PowerPoint presentation reviewing PetFest 2011 was shown. Freedom
Dog Park is open, looks good, and has received positive feedback.
b. Indy East
Irrigation options are being explored. Two areas need to be re-graded
and re-sodded by the contractor. The punch list should be done complete
prior to the grand opening on November 5th.
c. TCP
Aquatics/Outdoor Supervisor, Jacob Lohse, presented a PowerPoint
presentation.
d. Aquatics
Aquatics/Outdoor Supervisor, Jacob Lohse, presented a PowerPoint
presentation.
e. Fall Festival
Director Adams presented a PowerPoint presentation showcasing what
the Town could look forward to at Fall Fest 2011.
f. Harmony Park
Harmony Park will be a “soccer” only park. The expansion of the soccer
fields has started. So that the fields will be usable in the Spring, areas of
Harmony and Lakeview will be seeded with rye grass.
g. Linear park and trail system
Also known as the amenity lakes, logistics of maintenance are being
looked into.
h. Bond update
Sub-committee will “flesh out” the ideas that were proposed during the
September 8, 2011 Park Board meeting and bring back to Park Board the
ideas that they would like to recommend to the Town Council. (estimating
engineering for the ideas will be very difficult).
i. Staff administrative duties
Jacob Lohse and Sherri Lewis handle, mostly, programming. Tony
Jaramillo handles maintenance.
Adjourn
Board Member Hanna made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by Board Member
Abdulky. Motion passed unanimously.
