PROCLAMATION NO. 2019-14
A PROCLAMATION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, RECOGNIZING JUNE 2, 2019 AS NATIONAL
TRAILS DAY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, interest in outdoor recreational opportunities, including walking,
bicycling, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching and ORV riding is on the rise with local
residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the American Hiking Society launched its first National Trails day in
1993 to promote the importance of trails and unlock the potential of a national trails
system; and
WHEREAS, trails in the Town of Trophy Club enhances the quality of life for our
citizens, increase tourist activity in the Town and county; and
WHEREAS, National Trails Day is an opportunity to increase public awareness
of the Town of Trophy Club's trail opportunities and diverse outdoor recreation activities,
and promote the importance of a local and national network of trails; and
WHEREAS, trail activities are enjoyed by people of all ages, and are an
important part of the Town of Trophy Club's outdoor recreational resources; and
WHEREAS, citizens are encouraged to participate in the National Trails Day
activities scheduled in the Town of Trophy Club and the region to strengthen their
commitment to preserving the natural scenic and recreational qualities of The Town of
Trophy Club trails.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MAYOR C. NICK SANDERS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, DO HEREBY
PROCLAIM:
June 2, 2019 as National Trails Day
Urging all our citizens to participate in a National Trails Day event or recreate at a
park or trail on National Trails Day and consider taking a day to enjoy to your favorite
trail.
