RES 2016-16 TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS
RESOLUTION NO. 2016-16
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB, TEXAS MAKING ANNUAL APPOINTMENTS TO SERVE ON THE
BUILDING STANDARDS COMMISSION; DESIGNATING TERMS OF
SERVICE; DESIGNATING A PERSON TO SERVE AS CHAIR OF THE
COMMISSION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, benefits by having its citizens
involved in local government through service on Boards and Commissions; and
WHEREAS, the Trophy Club Town Council is charged with the responsibility of
making appointments to the Boards, Commissions and Corporations serving the Town
whose terms are expiring and to replace members who have resigned; and
WHEREAS, on June 23, 2015, the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club
adopted Ordinance No. 2015-13, establishing the Building Standards Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council generally takes action in September of each year
to appoint residents to serve on various Town Board, Commission and Corporation
seats; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the September 2015 appointments, the Town did not
receive enough applications for this Commission, necessitating mid-term appointments;
and
WHEREAS, by passage of this Resolution, the Town Council hereby finds it
appropriate to adopt this Resolution making new citizen volunteer appointments as well
as designating a member of the Commission to serve as Chair on the Building
Standards Commission through fiscal year 2017-2018.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as if written word
for word.
Section 2. That the Town Council hereby adopts this Resolution to appoint the
following individuals to serve on the Building Standards Commission and to designate a
Chair to serve on the Commission with respective terms of service ending on
September 30 of the year specified below for each individual:
BUILDING STANDARDS COMMISSION
1. Mark Hamil (2018) 4. Sean Cannon (2017)
2. John Murtaugh (2018) 5. Peter Blanchard (2017)
3. Jeff Sims (2018)
Alt. Jack Ormond (2018)
Peter Blanchard shall serve as Chair of the Building Standards Commission.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its date of passage
in accordance with law.
PASSED and APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas on this 14th day of June 2016.
