MEETING FOR THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB

The Parks & Recreation Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on
Monday, February 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the
Town and was open to the public.

Call to order and announce a quorum.
Vice Chairman Abdulky called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. noting a quorum was
present.
REGULAR SESSION
Citizen Presentations:
1. Discuss and take appropriate action on the approval of the January 19, 2015
minutes.
Board member Hanna made a motion to approve the January 19, 2015 minutes. Board
member Murray seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.

2. Discuss and take appropriate action on the creation of a sub -committee to
address various operational issues associated with Freedom Dog Park.
Susan Edstrom, Animal Shelter Board, spoke about looking at policies and procedures
of the dog park; limit access to park and monitor who is in the park at any given time,
proof of rabies on annual basis with Animal Control officer. Board member Murray
observed that many dogs don't wear tags at the park. Vice Chairman Abdulky motioned
to create a sub -committee to address various issues with the dog park. Board member
Murray seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Vice Chairman Abdulky
volunteered to chair the sub -committee.
3. Staff/Board update on the following items; discussion of same.
a. Lakeview Soccer Field
Staff will meet this week with engineer and president of soccer association to go
over initial plans. Once estimate is put together, the plans will go to council.
b. Freedom Park
Ramp was put in at playground and fencing will go up soon. Bids for pilot
channel that crosses through the entire dog park will be taken soon.
c. Independence Park
Royal Troon progress: "off' switches added to light poles, bigger light shields for
pool parking lot, curb cut next to trail where Royal Troon enters the park, ordered
bollards for the trail, working with Sue Fitzgerald to get a rock for her yard,
Teague Nall and Perkins working up estimate for changing parking lot. Waiting
to hear from TCRYBA for score board on field #4.
d. Trophy Club Park
Board member Mills gave update on maintenance and repairs.
e. Harmony Park
f. Trophy Club Park Sub -Committee
CFAB is still looking at financial operations. Board member Murray encouraged
participation on the sub -committee. Sub -committee will cover the entire park.
g. Sports Associations
Ideally, will get all sports associations under the same contract beginning the first
week of July. Staff working with baseball and kickball on scheduling the weekly
"day off."
h. Parks Services RFP
Council pointed out properties that aren't town property, but are maintained by
the town - like Trophy Wood. Staff will research how many properties of this
nature exist.
i. Upcoming Classes/Programs
Reviewed draft of 2015 Activity Guide.
Adjourn
Board member Hanna made a motion to dismiss the meeting at approximately
7:55 p.m. Board member Mills seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
