A ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS
ADOPTING AN EXEMPTION FROM THE TOWN'S AD
VALOREM TAX FOR PERSONS 65 YEARS OF AGE OR
OLDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 25,00Q,00 OF THE
APPRAISED VALUE OF THE RESIDENCE HOMESTEAD;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE ]TATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas (the "Town") is authorized and empowered under Tex. Tax
Code Ann. §11.13(d) (Vernon), as amended, to adopt an exemption
from the Town's ad valorem tax for persons who are 65 years of
age or older.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to
be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this
ordinance as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That there is hereby adopted and
established an exemption from the ad valorem tax levied by the
Town Council for persons who are 65 years of age or older in
the amount of $ of the appraised value of
their residence homestead.
Section 3. That the exemption from taxation adopted
hereby shall be effective as of the date of this ordinance and
beginning with the tax year 1989 and for all subsequent tax
years.
Section 4. If any section, article, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or
application thereto any person or circumstances is held invalid
or unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such
holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
of this ordinance; and the Town Council hereby declares it
would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance
despite such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain
in full force and effect.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be cumulative of all
other ordinances of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, affecting
taxation and shall not repeal any of the provisions of said
ordinances except in those instances where provisions of those
ordinances are in direct conflict with the provisions of this
Ordinance.

Section 6. That this ordinance shall take effect from
and after its date of passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of
Trophy Club, Texas this the 26 day of September 1988.
