ORD 2000-22TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 2000-22 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE SOUTHSIDE OF VILLAGE TRAIL DRIVE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PUBLICATION CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, under Sections 512.201 and 542.202 of the Texas Transportation Code, is authorized to adopt local traffic regulations with respect to streets under its jurisdiction. WHEREAS, the Town, under Section 311.002 of the Texas Transportation Code, is given exclusive control over the highways, streets, and alleys of the Town. WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that the adoption of this ordinance is in the best interest of the citizens of the Town. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS: SECTION 1. PROHIBITIONS (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park a motor vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with directions of a police officer, on the soutlrside of Village Trail from one -hundred and twenty (120) feet north of Chimney RocIc Drive to the southwest corner of the intersection of Village Trail and Alamosa Drive. (b) There shall be an exception to subsection (a) above, that parking shall be permitted on the southside of Village Trail on school days from the southwest corner of the intersection of Village Trail and Alamosa Drive to the northwest corner of the intersection of Village Trail and Sonora Drive between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m, and between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. SECTION 2. SAVINGS CLAUSE All rights and remedies of the Town are expressly saved as to any and all violations of the provisions of any other ordinance affecting parking which have secured at the time of the effective date of this Ordinance; and, as to such accrued violations and all pending litigation, both civil and criminal, whether pending in court or not, wider such ordinances same shall not be affected by this Ordinance but may be prosecuted until final disposition by the court.
