RESOLUTION NO. 2012-23
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE PASSAGE OF THE
NORTHWEST INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT'S $255 MILLION
BOND PROPOSAL ON NOVEMBER 6, 2012; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of Trophy Club recognizes that the Northwest ISO
student population is anticipated to increase by over 5,800 students over the next five
years; and
WHEREAS, in November 2010, the Long-Range Planning Committee for
Northwest ISO began meeting to discuss upcoming facility and technology needs; and
WHEREAS, after analysis of the facility and technology needs of Northwest ISO
prior to the 2016-2017 school year and based upon information received in a citizen
survey, the Long-Range Planning Committee has recommended that the School Board
authorize a Capital Bond Election for $255,000,000, to include funds for the following
projects in order to accommodate the anticipated student growth:
It High School #3
It Middle School #6
It Technology
It Major Building Component Replacements
It Program Enhancements
It An Elementary School Building Addition; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest ISO Board of Trustees has called for a $255 million
bond election for November 6, 2012 to provide for the needed facilities; and
WHEREAS, if the bond is approved by the voters, the maximum I & S tax rate
could move from the current rate of $0.335 to $0.4125; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council recognizes that the pursuit of high quality
academics require adequate facilities and support systems to provide a positive learning
environment; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council of Trophy Club has determined that the passage
of this bond is needful for the pursuit of high quality academics and to avoid over-
crowding at Northwest ISO campuses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The Town Council supports and encourages the passage of the
November 6,2012 Northwest ISO $255 million bond.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after the date of passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas, this this the 10th day of September, 2012.
