RESOLUTION NO. R 93-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS RECOGNIZING AND
ACCLAIMING THE EFFORTS OF THE SUPERINTENDENT,
BOARD OF TRUSTEES, FACULTY AND STAFF OF THE
NORTHWEST INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO
IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION WITHIN THE
DISTRICT, AND EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION TO
THE SUPERINTENDENT, BOARD, FACULTY AND STAFF
FOR THOSE EFFORTS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club, Texas lies wholly within the
Northwest Independent School District (the "School District") ; and
WHEREAS, during the last several years, the Superintendent,
Board of Trustees, Faculty and Staff of the School District has
taken significant steps to improve the quality of education for its
students, as follows:
•In 1990, the Board, upon the recommendation of the
Superintendent and Staff and in order to improve the physical plant
of the School District, called for, guided and directed an election
to consider the adoption of a $22 million dollar bond issue, which
issue was overwhelmingly approved by the voters;
•As a result of the election and the issuance of the bonds, a
massive building program was initiated, with the result that no
student is currently attending classes in a building more than ten
years old and no portable classrooms are being used;
•The curriculum programs at every level of the School District
have greatly improved; and
WHEREAS, the improvement in the quality of education has
significantly improved the reputation of the School District, which
reputation has been further enhanced by the active role taken by
the Superintendent, Board of Trustees, Faculty and Staff in
promoting the District before city governments, chambers of
commerce, the Northeast Leadership Forum and other civic
organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent, Staff amd Board of Trustees has
further sought to improve the School District's financial position
by taking an active role in negotiating for financial resources as
major industrial development begins to occur within the District;
and
WHEREAS, the Town council recognizes that, as a result of the
efforts of the Superintendent, Board of Trustees, Faculty and
Staff, there has been a renewed and increased spirit of cooperation

between the School District and other local governments operating
within the District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. The Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas
does hereby acknowledge and acclaim the significant efforts made
and the notable objectives accomplished by the Superintendent,
Board of Trustees, Faculty and Staff of the Northwest Independent
School District which have improved and enhanced the quality of
education within the District as described above, and hereby
expresses its appreciation to the Superintendent, Board, Faculty
and Staff for its accomplishments.
Section 2. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded by
the Mayor to the President of the Board of Trustees and the
Superintendent of the School District.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after
its date of passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy
Club, Texas this the 20th day of April #1 1993.
