PROCLAMATION NO. 1999- 01
A PROCLAMATION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB, TEXAS ENCOURAGING THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE TO ALLOW
KIRKWOOD BOULEVARD TO REMAIN OPEN; ENCOURAGING THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE TO RESOLVE ALL OUTSTANDING ISSUES PERTAINING
TO KIRKWOOD BOULEVARD; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Town is empowered under §51.001 of the Texas Local Government
Code to adopt an ordinance or rule that is for the good government of the Town;
WHEREAS, Kirkwood Boulevard is used by the residents of the Town of Trophy Club
to access eastbound State Highway 114;
WHEREAS, the closure of Kirkwood Boulevard would present a substantial hardship to
the residents of the Town of Trophy Club and surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the residents of the Town of Trophy Club and
surrounding communities that the City of Southlake work diligently to ensure a speedy
resolution to the issues surrounding Kirkwood Boulevard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the Town Council encourages the City of Southlake to allow
Kirkwood Boulevard to remain open so as to provide access to eastbound State Highway 114,
Section 2. That the Town Council encourages the City of Southlake to resolve the
outstanding issues pertaining to Kirkwood Boulevard in a timely manner; and
Section 3. That this proclamation shall take effect from and after its date of passage
in accordance with law.
