AGENDA ITEM: Department Updates:
a. Fall Events & Programs
b. Community Center Renovation
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY: Fall Events & Programs
On Saturday, October 10, the Parks and Recreation Department hosted a “Pup Up” event
following the cancellation of the originally scheduled PetFest due to inclement weather.
Despite the change in plans, the department was pleased to provide an opportunity for
residents and their four-legged friends to enjoy a variety of vendors, a photo booth, pup-
friendly snow cones,and giveaways.
The department is currently hosting its annual Fright Lights Contest, encouraging residents to
showcase their Halloween spirit by transforming their homes and yards into hauntingly festive
displays. Nominations will be accepted through October 20, with judging scheduled for October
21.
Upcoming Fall Events:
• Fall Movie Night – November 6: Join us for an evening of family-friendly entertainment
featuring Jungle Cruise. Activities will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the movie at 6:00
p.m.
• Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony – November 11: The Town will honor and recognize
those who have served our country during a special ceremony at Veterans Memorial
Park beginning at 11:00 a.m.

this reimagined community celebration will take place at Independence Park East from
5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Attendees can look forward to an evening of live music, delicious food
and beverages, local vendors, family-friendly activities, and festive fall fun for all ages.
Community Center Update:
At the October 12, 2026, Town Council meeting, Council will consider authorizing the Town
Manager to negotiate and execute a construction contract with Love’s Management
Page 3 of 18
Contracting for renovations to the new Trophy Club Community Center, not to exceed $90,000.
After the Town acquired the 8,650-square-foot facility in August, staff solicited and reviewed
proposals from three contractors, with Love’s Management submitting the lowest quote of
$68,445. The proposed work includes demolition, new flooring, custom cabinetry and
countertops, electrical and plumbing improvements, drywall and ceiling repairs, interior
painting, and weatherization. Staff recommends an additional $21,555 in contingency funding
to address unforeseen construction needs, bringing the total authorization to $90,000. This
expenditure falls within the previously approved $225,000 renovation budget, leaving
$135,000 available for HVAC repairs and other facility improvements. The project represents
the next step in preparing the Community Center for expanded year-round recreation
programming and community activities.
