COMMUNICATION
MEETING DATE: July 21, 2025
FROM: Chase Ellis, Director of Parks & Recreation
AGENDA ITEM: Department Updates (Chase Ellis, Director of Parks & Recreation)
a. Fourth of July Celebration
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Trophy Club’s Fourth of July 2025 celebration was a full day of patriotic festivities that brought
the community together despite early challenges with rain. The day began with the annual
Patriot 5K and Fun Run, where more than 400+ participants gathered at 6:30 a.m. for check-in.
The race kicked off at 7:15 a.m. Following the race, the Parade of Patriots staged at 8:00 a.m.
and began rolling through town at 10:00 a.m. after judging. Hundreds of residents lined the
streets to cheer on decorated golf carts, bicycles, floats, and local groups.
In the evening, Independence Park East became the hub of celebration as nearly 4,000
attendees gathered for the highly anticipated fireworks event. The rain cleared just in time for
families to enjoy live music from the Limelight band, more than 15 inflatable attractions, a fun-
house maze, face painting, a kids’ art studio, and a wide range of food vendors. Children’s
activities wrapped up at 9:20 p.m., and the skies remained clear for the professional fireworks
display that launched at 9:40 p.m. from the Veterans Memorial. The 20-minute show lit up the
sky and capped off the day with a powerful, crowd-pleasing finale.
Despite early rain delays and wet conditions, the Town’s staff and volunteers adapted quickly,
ensuring the event remained safe, organized, and enjoyable. With strong community turnout
and positive feedback, Trophy Club’s 2025 Fourth of July celebration proved once again to be
one of the most cherished and well-attended events of the year.

PARKS & RECREATION BOARD/TREE BOARD
COMMUNICATION
MEETING DATE: July 21, 2025
FROM: Chase Ellis, Director of Parks & Recreation
AGENDA ITEM: July Parks and Recreation Month
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Parks and Recreation Month is a nationwide celebration held every July for the past 40 years,
honoring the dedication of more than 160,000 full-time professionals and countless part-time
staff and volunteers who support and maintain park systems across the country. This
observance highlights the vital role parks and recreation play in creating accessible, inclusive,
and sustainable spaces that enrich the lives of community members.
In 2025, the national theme is “Build Together, Play Together,” emphasizing the importance of
collaboration in developing and enjoying recreational spaces. The Town of Trophy Club is fully
embracing this theme by encouraging residents to share how parks bring them together using
the hashtag #BuildTogetherPlayTogether and tagging @trophyclubparksandrec on social
media.
Locally, the Trophy Club Town Council issued an official proclamation on June 23, 2025,
designating July as Parks and Recreation Month in the community. This formal recognition
highlights the Town’s ongoing commitment to supporting parks and recreation as a
cornerstone of community well-being.
Throughout the month, Trophy Club’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting several
engaging events, including Family Day Out on July 12, Coffee in the Park on July 15, and a
Dive-In Movie featuring Moana 2 on July 25. These events are designed to bring people
together, encourage outdoor activity, and celebrate the value of public spaces.
By recognizing Parks and Recreation Month, Trophy Club reinforces the importance of
community health, environmental stewardship, and social connection, while also celebrating
the professionals and volunteers who make it all possible. Residents are encouraged to join the
celebration, attend local events, and share their stories to help inspire a stronger, more
connected community.
