04.10.2024 CCPD MinutesMINUTES FROM REGULAR SESSION BOARD OF THE CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT MEETING FOR THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB LOCATION: 1 TROPHY WOOD DRIVE, TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. Council Chambers The Crime Control and Prevention District Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the public. STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF TARRANT § CCPD BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Heath Williams, Vice Chairman Fred Lohmann, Board Member Marc Bartels, Board Member Christopher McAllister, Board Member Christine Udvar-Hazy, Board Member Royce Labor, Board Member CCPD BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Leo Daniels, Chairman STAFF AND GUEST(S) PRESENT: CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM Vice Chairman Heath Williams called the meeting to order and announced a quorum at 6:02 p.m. PUBLIC COMMENTS Citizens are allowed four (4) minutes to address the Board regarding an item over which the Board has policy or oversight authority as provided by Texas law, the ethics order, or other policy order. Vice Chairman Williams asked if anyone wished to address the Board. No one addressed the Board. Page 3 of 4 REGULAR SESSION 1. Consider and take appropriate action regarding the Crime Control and Prevention District Board Minutes for December 5, 2023. Chairman Daniels called for a review of the December 5, 2023, minutes of the Crime Control and Prevention District. The minutes were reviewed, and a motion made by Fred Lohmann to accept the minutes as presented. Motion seconded by Board Member Christine Udvar-Hazy. Motion approved by a vote of 6-0. 2. Discussion regarding Department's Mental Health Program and future improvements. Chief Arata explained how mental health issues can impact the officers and the Police Department uses time and assistance to help these people. Officers do not always have resources & time to deal with these ongoing issues. This subject will be discussed in upcoming budget meetings going forward. 3. Receive Police Department update. Chief Arata states the schools are doing fine — the drug analyzer tool works well. There are currently two vacancies for officers in PD; the Department is always looking for crossing guards. Marc Bartels asks about K-9 Indy and his status; Chief informs the Board Indy officially retires May 13th Upcoming meetings will include a May budget workshop, as well as a public hearing and budget adoption meeting in the beginning of June.
