ToWn of Tropbp Club, Memo
WHEREAS, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution designating October 28t" as "Honoring the
Nation's First Responders Day; and
WHEREAS an estimated 4.6 million career and volunteer firefighters, police, emergency medical
technicians, and paramedic workers serve communities all across the nation; and
WHEREAS, courageous and dedicated men and women work to protect and aid the public
during emergencies as both professional and volunteer first responders; and
WHEREAS, First Responders are ready to aid the people of Trophy Club, working 24 hours a
day, seven days a week; risking their own safety to protect our citizens; and
WHEREAS, First Responders undergo extensive education, training and make significant
personal sacrifices in order to achieve the expertise required to respond to emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, in addition to maintaining safety and order in times of crisis, many first responders
also enhance their communities as volunteers for service organizations, churches, and schools; and
` WHEREAS, Rotary Club International has a long history of supporting First Responders through
various programs and providing disaster relief; and
WHEREAS, the Trophy Club Rotary wishes to show appreciation for all Town First Responders
by annually recognizing one Firefighter and one Police Officer of the Year.
NOW THEREFORE, I Mayor C. Nick Sanders, in conjunction with the Trophy Club Town
Council, do hereby proclaim October 28, 2020 as:
"FIRST RESPONDERS' DAY"
and encourage citizens to show First Responders how much we value their service.
