STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF DENTON § The Parks & Recreation Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the public. Chairman Stotts called the Regular Session to order at 7:25 p.m. noting a quorum was present. Invocation Chairman Stotts led the Board in an invocation. Citizen Presentation Councilman Rose thanked the Parks & Recreation Board for putting on a great 41h of July Celebration for the Town. Board Member Ridgeway thanked staff for their hard work on the 4th of July Celebration. 1. Park Board to recess for food and refreshments. Chairman Stotts announced a recess at 7:27 p.m. The Board reconvened at 8:15 p.m. 2. Discuss and provide input concerning a staff/board member update on the following items: 1. PID amenities 2. Harmony Park 3. Independence Park 4. Trophy Club Park 5. Fourth of July Chairman Stotts stated that he walked the trail with Lance Proctor and Steve Leinart. He feels it will take a long time for several issues to be rectified. The piers for the fishing pier on Lake 2 are installed. He is currently talking to the Shanklins about an easement and looking into issues of whose ET J the land resides in. Board Member Graham stated that the Town should not accept the trail unless it connects to Trophy Club Park. Chairman Stotts has asked the developer to block off the pump for the lakes with some type of barrier. Director Adams said that Northeast Park will go to Council for approval in the second meeting of August. The youth sport associations will begin play at Northeast Park in late spring 2010. The Facilities Sub-Committee will hear a presentation from the second spray park company. The spray park will open in 2010. Board Member Ridgeway is concerned that the final spray park be designed to look classy. Director Adams, Park Supervisor Tony Jaramillo, Secretary Kadow, Trish Brown and David Jahn of the Trophy Club Roanoke Soccer Association met. The Town will reseed Harmony Park again and is taking down several Bradford Pear Trees. The fields will not be recrowned, as it would cost $500,000. Director Adams stated that EDC4A has approved the expenditure for shade structures on field 1 at Independence Park. Director Adams will hear the status of the TCP grant within the next week. TCP revenue is currently just over $100,000. Director Adams informed the Board that Northwest ISD informed him that the Town was unable to use Byron Nelson High School as an alternate fireworks launch site on the 4th of July. 3. Future agenda items: a. Effluent water to Harmony Park b. Participation fees c. In depth discussion on Amenity Lakes operations d. Park signage/advertising e. Swim team/pool signage and advertising f. Land acquisition g. Youth Sports Challenge h. Summer Adventure Camp i. Payment to the developer of the amenity lakes/trail and erosion issues j. UV filter at the pool k. Repair the surface of the kiddie pool I. Trail crossing at Byron Nelson High School m. Review spray park location n. Scouts and our trail system Adjourn Board Member Glaser made the motion to adjourn at 8:53 p.m. Seconded by Board Member Kohs.
