The Parks & Recreation Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on
Monday, January 21, 2019 at 7:03 p.m. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the
Town and was open to the public.

Call to order and announce a quorum.
Chairwoman Nimphius called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. noting a quorum was
present.
CITIZEN PRESENTATIONS:
Chairwoman Nimphius asked if there were any public requests to speak. No public
requests were submitted.
REGULAR SESSION
Consider and take appropriate action regarding the approval of the Parks and
Recreation Board Minutes dated October 15, 2018.
Board Member Davis mentioned that Mindi Bone was shown as both present and
absent. She was absent and the minutes will be corrected prior to signature.
Chairwoman Nimphius asked for a motion. Board Member Morace made a motion to
approve the October 15, 2018 minutes with the correction of members present shown in
the minutes. The motion was seconded by Board Member Stout. Chairwoman Nimphius
called for a vote. The motion passed unanimously.
Discuss and provide update regarding projects at town parks.
Director Jaramillo provided updates. Items discussed included:
• Pruning tree canopies, major tree cleanup activities, trailhead cleanup at the
T.W. King intersection.
• Trophy Club Park — Park is open, still some wet areas. Masterplan approved by
Council, moves on to Army Corps of Engineers for review.
• ADA swing installed at Dyno Playground.
• Provided information about "Keep Texas Beautiful" program that can be used
throughout all Town parks.
• June Moto X Race with company willing to build tracks and set up at no cost to
the Town in exchange for TCP weekend rental.
• Recommendation for Trail sub-committee. Volunteers were David Stout, Joel
Morace, and Dean Murray.
• Discussed frequency of Park Board meetings and preference was every other
month, next meeting to be held in March, 2019.
Discuss and provide update regarding ongoing recreational programs/events.
• New disc golf signs have been ordered.
• Pool components have been winterized. Bid awarded for splash pad painting.
Bocce Ball/Kickball: Very successful season. Registration begins March 1, 2019 for
Bocce Ball, February 1, 2019 for kickball (with games beginning March 20, 2019).
Pickleball: Spring leagues will be formed. Tentative start of registration is February
2019 with play beginning April 6, 2019.
Flag Football: Will be 4 x 4 teams this year.
Other Past Recreation Events:
• Goat Yoga was a huge success (80 participants) and will be scheduled again in
the near future.
• Christmas in the Park moved into BNHS was very successful. Gingerbread
house had 40 participants.
Miscellaneous Recreation Items:
• Town staff will meet with NISD to begin discussions on July 4th activities and summer
camp at Medlin Middle School.
• Town Staff provided a 2019 calendar of events to the board.
• Fun Run tentatively scheduled for February 23, 2019.
• Arbor Day will be observed including tree planting at Back to Nature event..
Discuss and take appropriate action in recommending to Town Council changing the
name of the current Bobcat Trail to "Whitetail Trail" and naming the North Linear
trail "Bobcat Trail".
Discussion and questions asked. Chairman Nimphius called for a motion. Board
Member Stout moved to recommend naming North Linear trail "Bobcat Trail" and
rename the current Bobcat Trail to Whitetail Trail. Motion seconded by Vice Chair Bone.
Chairman Nimphius called for a vote. The motion passed unanimously.
Discuss and provide input to staff concerning various medians revitalization projects.
Discussion centered around removal of all remaining Bradford Pears in medians
mentioned and replacing all with various ornamentals that have longer life and better
quality.
Chairman Nimphius asked for a motion. Board Member Morace moved to follow staff
recommendations regarding trees and median revitalization plans. Motion was
seconded by Board Member Stout.
Chairman Nimphius asked for a vote. The vote passed unanimously.
