minutes.
Board member Abdulky made a motion to approve the February, 2016 minutes. Board
member Davis seconded the motion. Motion passed, Board Members Hocker, Little,.
and Bilbrey abstained because they were not present for the February 16 meeting.
2. Staff/Board update on the following items; discussion of same.
a. Freedom Dog Park
Director Adams shared the two quotes received for the pilot channel; $15,000
and $14, 200, respectively. Based on the amount of the quotes, the Parks
Department will research doing this project in-house. The dog park sub-
committee's first meeting is scheduled for March 26, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.
b. Dino Playground
Fencing is almost complete; still need to add a gate and one more section of
fencing near the handicap parking space. A water fountain is the next
improvement project, scheduled to be installed by May.
c. Royal Troon
Council approved the installation of bollards at the entry portion of the trail off of
Lillyfield, installing a curb cut to access the trail from the street, placing a rock in
the Fitzgerald's right-of-way area next to their mailbox, installing shrubs along the
border of the trail adjacent to the Fitzgerald's property, installing larger light
shields on the pool parking lot lights and installing manual "off' switches for each
baseball field. $5,000 of trees will be planted behind Ursula Roberts' house.
Director Adams expects these improvements will be in complete in the next two
weeks.
d. Upcoming events/classes
Eggstravaganza is on March 28. "Getting to Know Bats" is on April 4 at Trophy
Club Park. Trophy Club Travelers trip is planned for April 17 to the Dallas
Arboretum. Back to Nature/Family CampOut is on April 25.
e. Trophy Club Park
Irish Bowling took place this past weekend. Eagle Scouts will be camping at the
park this weekend; they rescheduled due to the bad weather over the past two
weeks. Board member Mills acknowledged Keep Trophy Club Wild's "Project of
the Year' award, awarded by the Texas Master Naturalists Denton County
Chapter for trails maintenance of the park. CFAB voted to split into three sub-
committees: vehicle replacement system, TCP lease agreement, park
reimbursing the town for services.
f. Baseball Association/contract
Staff met with association last Thursday — good meeting. Town may partner with
the association to bring in tournaments and split gate fees from those
tournaments. Reviewed the breakdown of residents that are registered with the
association. Roanoke takes fields out of play, so the contract needs to spell out
what each town provides. Water restrictions are pushed out because the water
level is at 70%.
g. Parks RFP
Council agreed to let the RFP move forward as written. There are about 20
properties maintained by the town that are not actually town property. RFP will
be posted for 45-50 days. During this timeframe, staff will look at the 20
properties to establish official/find agreements regarding maintenance.
h. Program Brochure/Active Software
i. Soccer association
Lakeview practice fields are out of play. Harmony is being heavily used. Teague
Nall Perkins will provide an estimate to create real practice fields at Lakeview.
The soccer association will eventually be on a similar contract to what baseball is
on.
3. Future agenda items:
Park bond update plus future capital projects, libraries
Adjourn
Board member Hanna made a motion to dismiss the meeting at approximately
8:17 p. . Board member Stout seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
