REGULAR SESSION
Citizen Presentations:
1. Discuss and provide input concerning a proposed community challenge program.
Chairwomen Nimphius led the discussion on the Town participating in the community
challenge program. The program engages everyone in the Town and focuses on health
and wellness. The program will run from January 9— March 31. Each Board Member
has been assigned to specific businesses and areas of Town to each out to in order to
gain support and participation. The Mayor will be introduced to this challenge on
December 13 and Town Council will be introduced on January 10 at their monthly
meeting. The Board Members came up with several ideas including group walks, a
kickball tournament, and seminars at our schools. The health events must be free and
open to the public so all have the opportunity to participate. The goal is to have a final
list of events once Town Council reviews each component of the program.
2. Discuss and make a recommendation concerning future Town park signage to
Town Council.
Secretary Murray presented the Board with several design concepts he came up with for
new Town park signage. All Members agreed that would like to have the same,
uniformed look for all of our Town parks. This is with the exception of Independence
East which already has a new sign. The signs will include wooden beams and patriotic
colors with clean, easy to read font. Lights will most likely be on each sign at night so
they are easily seen to the public. The "Town of Trophy Club" will most likely be listed on
the signs instead of a logo, in case the logo changes in the future. The signs will be
presented to Town Council meeting on December 13..
Adjourn
Secretary Murray made a motion to dismiss the meeting at 8:03 p.m. Board Member Gibson
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
