The Parks & Recreation Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on
Monday, November 22;12016 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the
Town and was open to the public.

Call to order and announce a quorum.
Chairwoman Nimphius called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. noting a quorum was
present.
REGULAR SESSION
Citizen Presentations:
Robert Murray, 2522 Roseville Drive, requested lights to be installed at Lakeview Park
and additional lights at Harmony Park. Thanked Parks for their support with the soccer
association. Michelle Lunday, 2810 Castlereach Street, and Emily D., 2244 Veranda
Avenue, to gain allowance to explore opportunities on how install inclusive features at a
new playground at the Canterbury Hills trailhead. Board agreed to them exploring
financial sponsorships to assist in putting in the playground.
Board Member Gibson made a motion to move item #4 to the top. Board Member Farrell
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
4. Discuss and provide input on both current and future capital park projects.
Director Adam Adams expanded the discussion on an inclusive playground being built at
a Canterbury Hills Park by showing the Board where the playground would go and
backing the idea. The new park is already planned in this year's budget but in order have
an inclusive playground built outside funding will be required.
Director Adams stated that the Parks Department will begin to run additional poles out at
Harmony Park. He also mentioned that Harmony Park will need to be taken down at
some point in order to be reground. A date for this has not been set.
1. Discuss and take appropriate action on the approval of the October 17, 2016
minutes
Board Member Farrell made a motion to approve the October 17, 2016 minutes. Vice
Chair Bone seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
2. Staff/Board updates on the following; discussion of same:
a. Special Events
Christmas in the Park is at Indy East Park on December 3. Chairwomen
Nimphius asked the Board to provide a couple giveaway items for the raffle that
will be taking place at the Parks and Recreation Board table. Santa Letters are
now also in Lakeview and Beck Elementary Schools and are due Friday,
December 9 by 5:00 p.m.

• Back to Nature and Spring Family Campout, Mar. 18
• Eggstravaganza, Apr. 8
• Kite Festival, Apr. 29
• School's Out Event, May 26th
• Memorial Day Ceremony
• Movie in the Park, June 17
• Movie in the Park, middle of July
• Back to School Event, Beginning of August
b. Recreation Programs
• Babysitting Classes—two in the Spring
• Swimsuits and Storytime at the pool this summer
• World's Largest Swim Lesson, June 22
• Trophy Club gives back, December 2017
Board Member Gibson mentioned implementing a Holiday 5K run next year.
Parks and Recreation Department staff is going to look into it.
c. Holiday Decorations
Director Adams suggested on reaching out to the associations on lighting up the
cedars at Indy East Park for Christmas in the Park. Director Adams would like to
work with the Parks Board on trying to obtain additional commercial holiday
lighting for the Town for upcoming years.
d. Youth Sports
Director Adams said this past season was successful for all of the youth sports
associations.
e. Trophy Club Park
3. Discuss and make recommendations concerning future Town park signage to
Town Council.
Board Member Farrell presented several examples of different park signs that she
believed would work for new park signs throughout the Town. The Board decided to
move towards a more patriotic and uniformed theme, with the signs all having the same
design. Secretary Murrary will work on the designs and present them at the next board
meeting. Once a design is agreed upon, it will be presented to Town Council at their next
meeting on December 13, 2016.
Board will come up and agree on a new name for the Community Pool.
5. Discuss and provide input concerning a proposed Community Challenge
program.
Director Adams would like to implement the Community Challenge Program starting in
January 2017. It is a health initiative that brings the whole town together including the
schools. This will also be presented to Town Council as well. Board and Parks
Department start advertising this program at the Christmas in the Park parks table.
6. Discuss and take appropriate action on setting a date for the next Board meeting.
The Board agreed to meet next on December 5, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

c. Revenue producing ideas
Adjourn
Board Member Gibson made a motion to dismiss the meeting at 8:31 p.m. Secretary Murray
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
