Minutes Parks 09/21/2015T(Ca: TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DENTON 9 MINUTES OF A REGULAR PARKS & RECREATION BOARD MEETING FOR THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB LOCATION: 100 MUNICIPAL DRIVE, TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS Monday, September 21, 2015 7:00 P.M. A The Parks & Recreation Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the public. Chairwoman Little called the meeting to order at 7:17 p.m. noting a quorum was present. REGULAR SESSION Citizen Presentations: 1. Discuss and take appropriate action on the approval of the August 17, 2015 minutes. Adjust minutes to show that Chris McCollister arrived at 7:35pm and correct Board member Hanna's name under the adjournment section. Board member Hanna made a motion to approve the minutes with the two noted corrections. Board member Abdulky seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 2. Discuss and provide input to staff concerning current and future community pool operations. Chairwoman Little observed that the pool is very crowded and there are a large number of kids coming to the pool from day care centers. The board discussed options for reducing the number of day care centers using the pool who are largely made up of non- residents; raise the rates, "day care only" days. Charging on July 4th and raising the rate for non-residents were also discussed. Staff will bring firm numbers on the 2015 pool season to the next meeting. 3. Staff/Board update on the following items; discussion of same. a. TCP/FEMA update Staff reviewed "Restore TCP" plan and named some of the volunteer groups. Volunteers will receive a free cap and coupon. Board members Mills and Hocker have put in a large number of hours of volunteer time on the trails and cleanup. Plan to open the park on October 2, 2015. Several consultants have come to look at the park and give input on how to restore it. There is a new FEMA coordinator working with staff. Quotes are being gathered for all needed repairs in the park. Board member Mills reviewed a spreadsheet regarding inventory in the park. Concept plans are in -the -works for the east side of the park. b. Harmony Park Director Adams let the board know that the community garden will remain at Harmony in the original location, but council made a few alterations to the original plan. KTCW may decide to remove themselves from this project due to the cost of the alterations. If KTCW backs out, the project may not come to fruition. c. Lakeview Soccer Fields TNP has submitted plans for the redesign of Lakeview fields. The projected cost of this project is $200,000. A max of 14 fields can be installed in the space that is available. d. Independence Park Kickball has started; 11 teams, Indy East on Wednesdays. No water restrictions yet. Staff anticipates needing water variances next year. The Veterans Memorial planning is underway and will come before the board or council to nail down agreements/plans. e. Upcoming classes/events Restore TCP, Sept. 26 Hunger Games, Oct. 2 Fall Fest, Oct. 17 CampOut, Oct. 26 TC Travelers trip to Bureau of Engraving, Sept. 26 Pinterest class, Sept. 26 Growing Up Wild classes, Oct. — Dec. Genealogy, Oct. 10 4. Board recognition of outgoing members. Chairwoman Little, Vice -Chairman Abdulky and Board Member McCollister will not be returning to the Board.
