PROCLAMATION 2014-11
A PROCLAMATION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS,
TO RECOGNIZE TROPHY CLUB POLICE CHIEF GERRY SCOTT KNIFFEN
ON HIS RETIREMENT CAPPING A 40 -YEAR CAREER IN PUBLIC SAFETY.
WHEREAS, Chief Scott Kniffen has given eight years of service to The Town of Trophy
Club as Chief of Police; and during those years, has made a significant positive difference with
his managerial talent, leadership and professional expectations of an outstanding Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, the performance of his duties on a daily basis provided for strong
foundation for a safe, secure community that has become a bedrock for our citizens
expectations and appreciation; and his willingness to go the extra mile to ensure high level of
professionalism from the entire Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Chief Scott Kniffen would always work to ensure his department had the
necessary equipment and resources to ensure quality, professional policing in Trophy Club.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the Town Council hereby officially recognizes the service of Trophy Club
Chief of Police Scott Kniffen, and by adoption of this Proclamation hereby publicly expresses its
sincere gratitude and appreciation to Chief Kniffen for his dedication and commitment to our
community.
Section 2. That the Town Council recognizes that it is through the efforts, contributions
and accomplishments of Chief Kniffen and the entire Police Department that help Trophy Club
truly be "A great place to call home."
Section 3. That on behalf of the Town Council and all of its employees, a heartfelt
congratulations is bestowed on Chief Scott Kniffen on his retirement from public service
effective September 30, 2014.
Section 4. That this Proclamation shall become effective from and after its date of
passage in accordance with law.
Passed and approved by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas,
this 23 Id day of September, 2014.
