1. Discuss and take appropriate action on the approval of the May 18, 2015 minutes.
Board member Bilbrey made a motion to table the approval of the May 18, 2015 minutes
until the July 2015 meeting. Board member Hocker seconded the motion. Motion
passed unanimously.
2. Staff update on July Fourth Celebration; discussion of same.
Parks and Recreation staff reviewed July Fourth plans. Sherri Lewis presented planning
documents: flyer, 5K route, parade route, parking options, Celebration layout and
fireworks site plan.
Consider and take appropriate action in recommending to Town Council a
methodology concerning the implementation of horse entrance fees for Trophy
Club Park.
A representative from Marshal Creek Ranch, Shondra Doran, spoke on behalf of her
business. Vice Chairman Abdulky made a motion to enter into a $3 per horse
concessionaire's agreement with businesses and a $3 per horse entry fee for general
users. Board member Hanna seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
4. Staff/Board update on the following items; discussion of same.
a. Trophy Club Park
Director Adams presented aerials of the park — lots of water! The Corp will
probably start letting out water, but there is still capacity for more water. Staff will
submit estimates to FEMA for cleanup including road replacements. The park
will likely remain closed until August (pedestrians may still enter.)
b. Trophy Club Garden
"Community garden" project started in January. Council wants the garden to
move forward with KTCW as the lease holder — all other entities will fall under the
KTCW umbrella. Garden rules are being created. No plans to move on the
forward project until after the July 141" council meeting. Ted Powell, 12 Reading
Court, spoke as a concerned citizen regarding the park; upset that the garden is
four feet from his fence, upset he had no input, invited board to come out to his
house and view the garden from his home/patio. Councilman Shoffner clarified
that the project is on hold due to lack of a contract.
c. Youth Sports
The sub -committee consists of Councilman Kurtz, Councilman Shoffner,
Councilman Rowe, Park Board member Darin Davis, Asst. Town Manager and
Parks and Recreation Director. 95% of the contract is complete. The contract
will be voted on by council at the July 14, 2015 meeting. If approved, the
contract will begin in 2016.
d. Freedom Dog Park
Parvo incident closed the park for one week.
e. Knock -Out Roses in the Medians
The town wi;i start pulling out knock -out roses due to mites and pathogens that
negatively impact the roses. It will take approximately three years for the
pathogen to clear out of the town.
Adjourn
Board member Hanna made a motion to dismiss the meeting at approximately
8:29 p. Board member McCollister seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
