The Tree Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on
Tuesday January 12, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was held within the boundaries of
the Town and was open to the public.

A.1 Discuss and take appropriate action on the 12-08-09 minutes.
Chairwoman Pugh called the Tree Board to order, noting a quorum at 6:40 pm.
Chairwoman Pugh stated that the minutes for Decembers meeting were not
recorded properly due to battery issues. Board member Downey made a motion
to accept the minutes as is. Seconded by Board member Boclair. Motion carried
unanimously. Board member Downey asked if staff had a copy of November 10,
2009 minutes. Staff member Jaramillo looked for the minutes on the recorder and
apparently have been erased.
A.2 Discuss and take appropriate action on 09-10 special events.
Staff member Adams recommended that Staff member Lee come to the
February 2, 2010 Tree Board meeting to discuss Arbor Day. Board member
Boclair recommended that Tree Board uses Save a tree - Plant a tree - Love a
tree as a motto for Arbor Day. Chairwoman Pugh recommended that Tree Board
hands out educational forms on how to plant trees, how to care for saplings etc.
Staff member Adams recommended that the Tree Board should try to get
Landscape vendors at Arbor Day.
A.3 Discuss and take appropriate action on possible revisions to the current Tree
Board Ordinance.
Staff member Adams talked about Council wanting to add duties to Tree Board
where residents could communicate any complaints to Tree Board. Chairwoman
Pugh recommended that she meet with Town Manager Emmons about the
additional duties that are supposed to be given to Tree Board. Chairwoman Pugh
recommended that the Tree Board hands out pamphlets to residents that would
educate them on the care of preserver able trees, consulting a professional
before cutting the tree down and possibly add a list of nurseries that will give
discounts to residents that take in their permit. Staff member Adams
recommended that The Tree Board added Cleveland Pear tree, Slash Pine, and
Red Maple tree to the tree list on the Ordinance. Chairwoman Pugh suggested
that The Tree Board take out Bald Cypress trees and Bradford Pear trees. Staff
member Jaramillo recommended that Live Oak trees needed to be removed from
the Median and Row tree planting list. Staff member Adams recommended that
Sweet Gum trees needed to removed from Tree planting list.
